Krug Rosé is everywhere we don’t expect it to be, in terms of texture, colour and taste. It is a remarkable Champagne which encapsulates the same creative spirit of Krug Grande Cuvée, again surpassing the very notion of vintage.
This Half-Bottle spent at least 6 years in Krug's cellars developing its particular expression and elegance, receiving its cork in Autumn 2015.
As it is a half-bottle, it leaves the cellars earlier and we recommend that you enjoy it soon rather than keep it for later.
Krug Rosé is inspired by the dream of the fifth generation of the Krug family to conceive a rosé Champagne that did not yet exist, one that could be re-created each year. Every Édition of Krug Rosé perpetuates this legacy.
The broad palette of elegant notes in Krug Rosé 23ème Édition, is born from a selection of 60 from 10 different years, the youngest of which dates back to and the oldest to . It was completed with 13% traditionally macerated Pinot Noir of the year from one special plot in Ay, which added spiciness, colour and structure.
Krug Rosé 23ème Édition was composed around the harvest of , an atypical year with high temperatures followed by cold, wet weather and low sun. The year’s unusual climate made it the second earliest harvest since 1822. In the end, grapes were healthy and of surprising structure, with wonderfully balanced Pinot Noirs and particularly expressive wines from plots in Mareuil sur Ay.
To realise the final creation, carefully selected plots’ wines of the year were blended with reserve wines from 9 other years, including the 2007 Meuniers of some plots from Sainte-Gemme chosen for their fruit character, as well as the 2009 Chardonnays of some plots from Trépail to add vivacity and tension.
In all, reserve wines from the House’s extensive library made up 56% of the final blend of this Édition of Krug Rosé.
The final composition of this bottle of Krug Rosé is 45% 45%, 29% 29% and 26% 26%.

Combining breadth, depth and grace, it dances a perfect tango with savoury dishes of all kinds, replacing a good red wine at the table with brio.
