Krug Vintage 2002
At Maison Krug, every Krug Vintage celebrates the distinct character of a particular year – a blend of its most expressive wines, enhanced by a stay of over ten years in the cellars. Each Krug Vintage is different: it tells the story of the unique circumstances of the year, of what surprised, enchanted or moved our Tasting Committee in the tasting room.

Krug 2002 is an elegant blend of Pinot Noir (40%), Chardonnay (39%) and Meunier (21%).
A word from
The cellar master

We decided to nickname Krug 2002 the House’s Ode to Nature, for this highly expressive and beautifully structured champagne was born from a serene and generous year.

FOOD PAIRINGS
Duck breast with its juice in reduction, roasted butternut squash and kumquat chutney or a lentil curry stew marked with orange zest can pair deliciously with Krug 2002. Desserts such as orange tiramisu or cinnamon brioche with a carrot, ginger and lemon mousse would also combine beautifully with this Champagne.

TASTING NOTES
A charismatic and fresh nose, with the promise of natural intensity and elegance and a strong presence of fruits of all types. A diverse bouquet of orange aromas with some notes of liquorice and light chocolate biscuit can also be enjoyed.
On the palate, this Champagne is astonishing, balanced and delicate with striking fresh, tropical, wild and crystallised fruits. It is a hymn to fruit – red, white and citrus – with notes of blackcurrant, chocolate, candied orange peel, cocoa beans, honey with hints of smoke and toast enhanced by a vibrant, persistent long finish.
