Krug Vintage
The story of a year, captured by Krug.
At Maison Krug, every Krug Vintage celebrates the distinct character of a particular year – a blend of its most expressive wines, enhanced by a stay of over ten years in the cellars. Each Krug Vintage is different: it tells the story of the unique circumstances of the year, of what surprised, enchanted or moved our Tasting Committee in the tasting room.

Krug 2006 is the delectable story of a mercurial year in Champagne, with extreme high temperatures and weather that oscillated from dry periods to intense rainfall. Marked by an intense, generous, enveloping and elegant melody, this champagne is nicknamed “Capricious Indulgence” by the Tasting Committee.
Krug 2006 is an elegant and round blend of Pinot Noir (48%), Chardonnay (35%) and Meunier (17%).

FOOD PAIRINGS
Krug 2006 is a delectable match for all cuisines, especially the most aromatic.
Dishes with character such as tajine with lemon confit, ratatouille, slow-roasted leg of lamb, vegetable tian, game, foie gras, flavourful fish or duck breast grilled over grape vines will be raised to another level by Krug 2006.

TASTING NOTES
At first sight, the intense golden colour promises round generosity.
A very expressive and indulgent nose reveals yellow and dried fruit, toasted almonds, hazelnut, maple syrup, meringue and mandarin liqueur.
On the palate it is generous, deep, ample and fresh with aromatic persistence and a long finish. It has notes of nougat, frangipane, pastry, tarte tatin, plenty of citrus with a beautiful finish on pink grapefruit skin.
Note:
Serving Temperature
The House of Krug recommends that its Champagnes be served between 9°C and 12°C, as colder temperatures limit the expression of their flavours and aromas.
Note:
The Joseph Glass
In 2011, we partnered with renowned crystalware maker, Riedel, to design a glass that would reveal the fullness of flavours and aromas of Krug champagnes.
Note:
The Influence of Time
All Krug champagnes gain in complexity and patina with the passage of time. We recommend storing them at the same temperature as you intend to serve them, between 9°C and 12°C.

RATINGS
"A stunner, with mouthwatering vibrancy and focus married to all of the opulence of a great 2006 Champagne. Richly fragrant, offering nutmeg, cardamom, jasmine, lemongrass, espresso and grilled nut notes enmeshed in a core of black currant and tangerine fruit flavors. Beautifully creamy and complex, this glides across the palate on the long, lasting finish."
