Krug Clos du Mesnil 2003 exalts the crisp purity of Chardonnay from one of the finest terroirs in the region – a single walled plot of vines, Clos du Mesnil – from a single year, 2003.
The legendary vineyard has been protected by stone walls since 1698 and is hidden within the heart of one of the most celebrated villages for Chardonnay in the Champagne region, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Its privileged location and small size of 1.84 hectares (4.25 acres), make Krug Clos du Mesnil 2003 a rare gem.
This individually numbered magnum spent at least 12 years in Krug's cellars further developing its depth and complexity. After regular tasting and appraisal, it received its cork as Krug Clos du Mesnil 2003 in spring 2015.
As it is a magnum, we let it rest for even longer, waiting until the Champagne is ready to be enjoyed.
