How would you describe your culinary philosophy?
My passion for cooking began with my father, who spent time with me in the kitchen when I was young. We prepared Sunday dinners together, and it was incredible to witness how food united our family and brought so much joy. Although my cuisine isn't Italian, it shares similar values. Above all, I believe food must have soul.

Treating great, simple ingredients with care to transform them into something more elevated
What is the most inspiring experience you had on your journey to becoming a chef?
The day prior to my scheduled departure for New York City to participate in the regional competition for Best Young Chef, my wife went into labour with our first child. I delayed my trip to stay with my family, and after my daughter Sawyer was born, I traveled to New York to compete. The situation was extremely stressful, and I was fueled by adrenaline. I was determined to win for my daughter, and fortunately, I succeeded.
What are your sources of inspiration?
I have two wonderful kids who inspire my creativity every day by challenging my perspective. They encourage me to rethink how I view food.
What is your ultimate dream meal?
I can't imagine life without a delicious taco, and I also can't go without the comforting Chinese food from the fantastic NY Noodletown in New York City.
Can you describe your first sip of Krug?
My first sip of Krug was a memorable moment with my dad. He wanted to share something special with me, so he poured us both a glass. That first sip of Krug captured the essence of togetherness and the joy that food and drink can bring to life. I look forward to the day I can share my kids' first glass of Krug with them, continuing this cherished tradition of connection and celebration.
What is your favourite Krug food pairing?
In the South, where mac and cheese is among the best in the world, pairing it with a glass of Krug Grande Cuvée elevates the dish to new heights. This combination brings sophistication to a beloved classic, turning each bite and sip into a true celebration of flavour and tradition.
