About the Krug Lover

Andreas Döllerer, born in Golling near Salzburg, is a celebrated Austrian chef known for his innovative "Alpine Cuisine". Since 2004, he has taken charge of his family’s kitchen, blending traditional Alpine flavors with modern techniques and regional ingredients. Honored five times as "Chef of the Year", his restaurant boasts 5 Gault&Millau toques and membership in Les Grandes Tables du Monde. His passion for exceptional flavors aligns perfectly with the artistry of Krug.

How would you define your cooking style?

Alpine Cuisine – I combine tradition, a deep connection to my roots, and their modern interpretation with my profound appreciation for regional products.

How does the location of your restaurant inspire your cooking?

For us, the mountains are our garden—a cornucopia of products and flavors that we bring to life in our cuisine.

What is the greatest lesson you have learnt in or outside the kitchen?

To learn that life always goes on, no matter how challenging the situation may be.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Epicurean, relaxed, determined

It’s not about where you are, but who you’re there with.
