About the Ambassade

El Portal is located in the heart of Alicante, just steps from the historic city centre. Founded in 2009, it has become a gastronomic landmark where cuisine, music, cocktails and interior design come together. As Spain’s first Krug Ambassade since 2016, El Portal has pioneered a new concept recognised by the Maison. Its Mediterranean cuisine, crafted by Chef Sergio Sierra, evolves alongside a vibrant atmosphere, creating a unique and immersive dining experience.

About the Krug Lover

Carlos Bosch is the founder and creative mind behind Grupo Gastroportal. Born in Alicante, his vision blends gastronomy, design, music and lifestyle into unique experiences. Passionate about excellence and detail, Carlos has transformed El Portal into an international reference for pleasure and hospitality. A Krug Lover by philosophy, he finds in Krug the perfect expression of time, craftsmanship and emotion shared around the table.

What is your idea of pleasure?

Pleasure is taking time to enjoy the moment. A great table, good music, meaningful conversation and the feeling of being exactly where you want to be, without rushing. True pleasure is about sharing and remembering.

How does the location of your restaurant inspire your work?

Alicante is part of our identity. The Mediterranean lifestyle, the light, the sea and the way people enjoy food and time together naturally inspire everything we do at El Portal.

What qualities do you value most in another person?

Honesty, passion and respect. I value people who care about details, who enjoy what they do and who understand that excellence is built through consistency and teamwork.

Where are you when you feel the happiest?

Around a table. Sharing food, wine and conversation with people I care about is where I feel most connected and inspired.

What makes you a Krug Lover?
