About the Ambassade

Located in a former industrial district of 20th-century Brescia, Italy, Laboratorio Lanzani is a space where heritage meets innovation. Designed by renowned urban planner Stefano Rabolli Pansera, winner of the 2013 Venice Biennale Golden Lion, with Alessandro Lanzani, the space embodies a vision of sustainability by transforming abandoned industrial sites into vibrant, modern environments. Guests are welcomed into a comfortable setting and offered a curated selection of high-quality ingredients. Laboratorio Lanzani's cuisine is distinctly Italian—fresh, light, and centred around the finest Mediterranean ingredients.  

About the Krug Lover

Alessandro Lanzani’s passion for gastronomy runs deep – rooted in his early days working in the family’s gastronomy specialty shop. His journey began with a love for fine products, leading him to study wines and champagne. Over the years, his dedication has earned him numerous accolades from prestigious Italian gastronomic and restaurant guides, including Gambero Rosso, Golosaria, and mentions in the Michelin Guide. A true Krug Lover, Alessandro began sharing Krug with select clients in the 1990s, long before his Bistrot became a Krug Ambassade in 2010 and Laboratorio followed in 2016. 

How does the location of your restaurant inspire your cooking?  

We believe in sustainable cooking, trying to reduce waste to a minimum and enhancing every single ingredient. 

What role does Music play in your life?  

Music accompanies my whole day, before serving at the restaurant I like to listen to rock music that gives me energy. In my moments of relaxation, I listen to 90s music that reminds me of my adolescence and relaxes me. 

What qualities do you value most in another person? 

Loyalty. Empathy. Commitment to improve. 

What is your ultimate dream meal  ?

Krug 2008 with raw seafood.  

How would you describe your culinary philosophy ?

Promoting the products of the Italian terroir. I often fall in love with a product known in foreign locations and I do not hesitate to offer it in the restaurant. Light, carefully prepared dishes. 

What is your favourite Krug pairing ?

Pairing Krug with a single ingredient, meats or fish. I personally love drinking Krug with a great cheese from my valleys, Bagoss, or with a good red shrimp from the Mediterranean.  

When is your favourite time to enjoy krug ? 

In the evening, after the service at the restaurant, I take a little time to reflect and appreciate the day just spent with a good glass of wine.
