What is your idea of pleasure?
Traveling the world and exploring different wine and Champagne regions, I also enjoy the simplest of life’s pleasures such as a nice sun holiday or cooking my wife dinner whilst enjoying a nice glass on wine.
What is your ultimate dream meal?
A meal served from a fine dining tasting menu, paired with new and exciting wines. Some dream courses would include: Royale Foiegras, veal sweetbread, and Passion fruit Souffle. Recently I visited The Greenhouse Restaurant in Dublin and my meal came close to my dream meal. The Head Chef in this establishment impresses me every time with his approach to food and his cooking style can only be described as breathtaking.
Who would you share your dream dinner with?
Mr Gerrard Basset MW & MS. I believe this gentleman introduced the concept of a Sommelier to the world. I never had the pleasure of his company, however, I am a great admirer. After hearing many stories from fellow sommeliers across the world he would have been my dream dinner Guest.
What is your greatest extravagance in life?
My greatest extravagance would be my passion for investing in rare wines for my personal wine collection. I see certain vintages as an investment and it gives me great pleasure to source and buy certain bottles to add for my collection.
What is most valuable to you?
My family, as I live and work away from home in my opinion time spent visiting my hometown of Croatia and making memories with my loved ones would have to be top of my list.
Can you describe your first sip of Krug?
Absolutely how could one forget, I remember the first time Krug Champagne meet my palate. The experience was truly unforgettable, straight after my first sip of Krug champagne I added Krug Champagne immediately to my wine list for my guests to enjoy, I knew I had just tasted something very special indeed.
