About the Krug Lover

Jochim Busch, chef and co-owner of Rausch in Frankfurt am Main, creates a cuisine rooted in seasonality, craftsmanship and respect for exceptional ingredients. Together with his partner Philipp Günther, who leads hospitality and shapes the guest experience, he creates a place where creative fine dining, carefully selected wines and genuine hospitality come together. For both, Krug embodies individuality, complexity and the belief that everyday moments deserve to be celebrated.

How would you describe your culinary philosophy?

At Rausch, our culinary philosophy is rooted in seasonality, exceptional ingredients and a deep respect for craftsmanship. Jochim Busch combines creativity and precision to create dishes with distinctive character, while Philipp Günther brings the experience together through personal hospitality and a thoughtful approach to wine. Our aim is to create a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere where fine dining feels natural and every meal becomes a memorable experience.

What three things would you take with you on a desert island?

Glass of gherkins, ice bucket, bottle of Clos de Mesnil.

What are your sources of inspiration?

Our inspiration comes from discovering new culinary destinations and sharing these experiences with family and friends. Meeting passionate people, exploring different cultures and traditions, and enjoying great food and wine inspire me to bring new ideas and perspectives into my own kitchen.

What is your idea of pleasure?

For us, pleasure is about taking the time to appreciate the little things: a great meal, a glass of Krug shared with good friends, and moments that bring people together. It is the balance between craftsmanship and spontaneity, simplicity and complexity, and the feeling that, for a moment, nothing else matters.

Where are you when you feel the happiest?

That's easy: at Rausch together with the colleagues.
