About the Krug Lover

Max is originally from Moldova, where he grew up in a winemaking family and spent his childhood surrounded by vineyards.

Can you describe any parallels you see between cooking and Music?

Cooking and music are parallel sensory arts: melody moves us through sound just as flavour moves us through taste. Both rely on rhythm, balance and harmony, blending individual elements into something greater than the sum of their parts. One plays on the ears, the other on the palate, but both share the same purpose: to connect emotionally and deliver a deeply satisfying, harmonious experience.

What is your idea of pleasure?

My idea of pleasure is the perfect alignment of time, place, people and emotion. When the moment, the setting and the company all feel effortlessly right, connection is built and, as those elements fall into harmony, pleasure becomes something you truly remember.

What is your ultimate dream meal?

My ultimate dream meal would be a celebration dinner after achieving something meaningful, shared with someone I love, in a restaurant that serves my favourite cuisine, paired with a glass of Krug, perhaps somewhere in the world I’ve always dreamed of visiting.  

What is your guilty pleasure in life?

Late nights, good music, and a glass of something beautiful I had not necessarily planned on opening.

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Curious. Relentless. Passionate.

What is your favourite Krug food pairing?

Krug Grande Cuvée and Otoro nigiri, because the champagne’s freshness slices through the richness of the fish like the blade of a sushi master. Elegant. Precise. Pure pleasure.

Why do you love Krug?

I love Krug because each bottle tells a story. The way it evolves over time, the people who craft it with obsession, and the community of those who appreciate it transform Krug into a culture united by passion, patience and taste.
