TAILS OF THE SEA NEAR TOKYO
 

Preparation for the day began with a misty morning at the fish market and the meticulous selection of the finest single ingredients for a meal to remember. In the evening, Krug Lovers came together to enjoy an original ocean-inspired dinner and live music performance by renowned local performer, Coba at the 17th Century Ryokan Asaba hotel.

Rhythm and Rain

Celebrated composer and accordionist Yasuhiro Kobayashi and his talented accompanying musicians delighted guests with his lively performance. The fickle weather was no hinderance to Coba, as the sound of the rain even added a layer of intimacy to the evening.

Guests discovered the endless pairing possibilities of a seemingly simple single ingredient with Krug Grande Cuvée 160ème Édition, Krug Grande Cuvée 166ème Édition, Krug 2004, and Krug Rosé 21ème Édition, as they tasted the colourful and carefully curated recipes from the sea.

LAUGHTER IS AN INGREDIENT
 

For the main course, Sushi Chef Yukiyoshi Tada prepared his iconic "chirashizushi mille-feuille" with Olivier Krug. The menu also included a varied and delicate sushi selection. Tada-san reminded guests that a welcoming setting with a positive atmosphere is just as important as the ingredients themselves. His motto of laughsmanship – a combination of craft and good nature – ensured smiles on the faces of all who were present.
