Krug Rosé
Krug Rosé, a relatively recent addition to the House, is an unexpected rosé Champagne combining distinction and boldness – inspired by the dream of the fifth generation of the House of Krug to conceive a rosé Champagne that did not yet exist. Their vision was that every year a new Édition of Krug Rosé could be created.
The latest Édition
Krug Rosé 29ème Édition
Composed around the harvest of 2017, Krug Rosé 29ème Édition is a blend of 29 wines from 5 different years, the youngest from 2017, and the oldest from 2010.
In all, reserve wines from the Maison’s extensive library made up 33% of the final blend of this Édition of Krug Rosé.
The final composition of this Édition of Krug Rosé is 53% Pinot Noir, including 11% traditionally macerated Pinot Noir wines of the final blend, 28% Chardonnay and 19% Meunier.
The Story of
Krug Rosé
In the 1970s, Rémi and Henri Krug, the fifth generation of the Krug family, succeeded their father at the head of the House. As they travelled to meet with Krug Lovers all over the world, they regularly faced the question “Why does Krug not create a rosé Champagne? If Krug were to create a rosé Champagne, it would be something quite different.”
This sowed the seed of an idea that came to fruition one warm summer’s day during the harvest of 1976, when Henri and his brother finally decided to create a rosé Champagne.
After a number of meticulous tasting sessions, the first Krug Rosé blend was decided upon and was presented to the world six years later, in 1983.

Krug Clos d'Ambonnay
Krug Clos d’Ambonnay exalts the elegant intensity of a single parcel – the Clos d’Ambonnay – and a single grape variety – Pinot Noir – from the harvest of a single year.
Krug Collection
A limited number of bottles of Krug Vintage are kept in ideal conditions in our cellars, developing additional facets, depth, concentration and patina. When the Cellar Master notes the emergence of these new flavours, the bottles receive their cork and are presented as Krug Collection.
